On 30th August 2025, the Rotaract Club of SSMRV College hosted Namma Onam, a vibrant Club Service event that brought the festive spirit of Kerala to life within the college campus. Under the leadership of House Captain of House Pragathi, Rtr. Safwan, and mentor Rtr. Deekshitha, the celebration became a joyful reminder of how culture can unite and strengthen bonds within a community. The event opened with captivating dance performances, filled with rhythm, color, and energy, each performance reflecting the cultural essence of Kerala. The audience was transported into the festive mood of Onam, clapping along and cheering for their peers. Following this, a fashion show added glamour to the day, with participants dressed in traditional Kerala attire. The grace of sarees, the simplicity of mundus, and the confidence of participants combined to create an atmosphere that honored both elegance and heritage. A special element that caught everyone’s attention was the hand-painted Kathakali face, a masterpiece crafted by three talented Rotaractors. This piece of art stood as a testimony to creativity, patience, and respect for tradition, adding depth to the cultural celebrations. The day concluded with a fun-filled musical chairs game, sparking laughter, playful competition, and camaraderie. This lighthearted activity ensured that the celebration ended on a note of joy and inclusivity. Namma Onam was more than a cultural event; it was an experience of unity, creativity, and shared happiness. It reminded everyone that festivals are at their best when celebrated together, with warmth and respect for tradition
