The Rotaract Club of SSMRV College recently organized Pookalotsavam, a beautiful flower rangoli (Pookalam) event that radiated the spirit of Kerala’s vibrant culture. This event saw the enthusiastic participation of three dedicated members, who meticulously crafted their Pookalam designs at the Sri Parvati Chandramouleshwara Swami Devasthana. The participants brought life to the temple premises with their creativity, carefully selecting flowers and colors that reflected both tradition and artistic flair. Each design was not just a visual delight but also a heartfelt expression of cultural appreciation, patience, and devotion. The participants spent hours arranging the petals in intricate patterns, paying attention to even the smallest details to ensure that their Pookalam was perfect. Beyond the aesthetic appeal, Pookalotsavam was an attempt to encourage and showcase Kerala’s rich cultural heritage within the local community. By placing the Pookalam in the sacred temple space, the participants aimed to blend art with spirituality, creating an atmosphere of warmth, positivity, and reverence. Visitors and devotees who came to the temple were captivated by the stunning floral displays and often stopped to admire the effort and dedication poured into each design. The event fostered a sense of pride and connection among the participants and onlookers alike. It highlighted how simple acts of creativity, when done with sincerity, can bring communities together and honor cultural traditions. Pookalotsavam was more than just a competition - it was a celebration of colors, culture, and the shared joy of creating something beautiful for others to enjoy. Through this initiative, the Rotaract Club successfully bridged art, devotion, and culture, leaving behind memories that will linger long after the petals have settled.
