The Rotaract Club of SSMRV College, in collaboration with the Rotaract Club of Bangalore Jayanagar, proudly joined hands for Project Avighna - an initiative designed to celebrate Ganesh Chaturthi in an eco-friendly and meaningful way. Under this project, special eco-celebration kits were prepared, each containing a plantable seed Ganesha (4 inches), a coconut fiber pot, coconut peat manure, and a seed ball. The concept was simple yet powerful: after the festivities, the idol could be immersed in the pot itself, allowing seeds to sprout and give back to nature. As part of this collaboration, our club purchased 10 Avighna kits, reinforcing our commitment to promoting sustainable practices while respecting cultural traditions. By choosing an eco-friendly alternative, we aimed to reduce water pollution caused by conventional idols and inspire our members to celebrate festivals in harmony with the environment. The initiative was not just about distributing kits - it carried a deeper message of responsibility, awareness, and love for nature. It reminded us that traditions need not come at the cost of the planet; rather, they can be adapted to nurture it. Project Avighna was more than a purchase; it was a promise to celebrate responsibly and an opportunity to set an example for others in the community. Through this small yet significant step, the Rotaract Club of SSMRV College proudly contributed to making Ganesh Chaturthi greener and more meaningful.
