On 4th September 2025, the Rotaract Club of SSMRV College took a meaningful step forward by launching Phase 1 of Project Belaku, District 3191 community service initiative aimed at spreading light and hope where it is most needed. As part of Trek Venture 2.0, amidst the scenic beauty of Huthri Betta, service seamlessly blended with adventure. Beyond the thrill of the climb and the joy of exploration, our hearts were set on creating an impact that would outlast the day. During the trek, our team had the privilege of distributing 4 solar lamps to local families living in darkness, offering not just a source of light but a symbol of warmth, care, and belonging. The smiles on their faces as the lamps lit up were more radiant than the sunrise we witnessed on the hills. For them, it meant evenings filled with safety, children studying without strain, and homes glowing with newfound comfort. For us, it was a gentle reminder that service is not always grand - it is often found in small, sincere acts that change lives in quiet but powerful ways. This initiative was more than a distribution of lamps; it was the lighting of hope. Just as the trek brought our members closer to nature and to each other, Belaku brought us closer to the very essence of Rotaract - serving with love, empathy, and purpose. With every step we took on the rocky trails, we also walked a path of compassion. Belaku - A Ray of Hope stands as a promise that no matter how small the act, every light we kindle brightens the world for someone in need.
