The Rotaract Club of BMSCE was part of the Rotary Polio Awareness Walkathon 2023, a collaborative effort led by Rotary Polio Plus, Rotaract Club of Koramangala, and 27 other clubs from Rotary International District 3191. The event took place on October 28th, 2023, from 7:30 AM onwards and covered a 3-kilometer route from Town Hall to Lalbagh, aiming to highlight the importance of polio eradication and rally support for this vital cause. The Rotary Polio Awareness Walkathon 2023 commenced at 7:00 AM with an enthusiastic assembly and registration of participants. Each club proudly displayed their banners, placard, placards and wore caps bearing the slogan "End Polio Now" setting the stage for a day filled with purpose. The event took a lively turn when the Rotaract Club of Koramangala organized an energizing flash mob, infusing the atmosphere with enthusiasm and motivation. The official start of the walkathon at 08:15 AM marked the moment of collective action. With their banners, placard and caps, participants embarked on the symbolic journey to raise awareness about polio eradication. Following the flag-off, a bike rally and the walkathon commenced at 08:20 AM, serving as a visual representation of our commitment to the cause as participants traversed the designated route. Walkathon was a poignant and inspiring gathering that not only included students but also extended its invitation to physically challenged individuals and even some furry companions in the form of dogs. It was a true testament to the inclusivity and unity of our cause. The participants came together to chant slogans that resonated with the urgency of eradicating polio. Phrases like "Now now than ever, stop polio forever" and "End polio for a better tomorrow" reverberated through the streets, serving as a poignant reminder of our shared mission. The participants reached Lalbagh, symbolizing progress toward our goal. All the club members who participated in this event along with our chief guests came together to form a human chain, symbolizing our unity and determination in the fight against polio captured by drone. The event reached its conclusion with a valedictory session, during which awards and recognitions were presented to acknowledge the exceptional efforts of the participants and the collaborating clubs followed by breakfast. In recognition of our unwavering dedication and active participation in the event, our club The Rotaract Club of BMSCE was honored with the "Highest Registered Club - Institution Based" award for having 130 registrations ,along with participation certificate an accolade that reflects our club's commitment and enthusiasm in the fight against polio.
