On 15 October 2023, the Rotaract Club of SSMRV College organized a movie outing for its board members as a fellowship activity. The movie chosen was "Mission Raniganj: The Great Bharat Rescue", a film based on the true story of Jaswant Singh Gill, a mining engineer who rescued 65 trapped miners in a coalfield disaster in 1989. The movie was a suspenseful and inspiring story about hope and perseverance in the face of adversity, fitting for the club's theme for this year, "HOPE: Uniting Humanity For Better Tomorrow". The eight board members who attended the movie outing found the film to be an enjoyable and informative experience, gaining a deeper understanding of the theme. Following the movie screening, the attendees engaged in a lively game of dumb charades, fostering camaraderie and laughter. The activity allowed members to demonstrate their creative and interpretive skills, adding an interactive element to the event. Moreover, the event featured a unique and symbolic photo session. One notable photograph captured club members forming a human figure spelling out the word "HOPE," perfectly aligning with the theme of the event and the club for the year. This remarkable photograph symbolizes unity, positivity, and collective inspiration.
