OBJECTIVES: The main objectives of the GFG 2.0 were as follows: ● Fundraising: Generate funds for cancer patients, treatment, and research. ● Cancer Awareness: Educate on prevention, early detection, and support. ● Community Engagement: Involve students, faculty, and local community. ● Education: Provide accurate information through Dr. Arjun S Kashyap's seminar. ● Artistic Expression: Spread positive messages through a cancer awareness flash mob. ● Networking: Connect students with healthcare professionals and organizations. SUMMARY: Summary of GFG 2.0: The "Give for Good 2.0" Cancer Awareness event, held in collaboration with the Kidwai Institute of Oncology, unfolded over three impactful days, infusing purpose and passion into the fight against cancer. The collaboration brought depth and expertise, enriching our mission to raise awareness and funds for this critical cause. On the inaugural day, volunteers gathered for a comprehensive orientation session, where coordinators provided instructions and guidance. Divided into groups, volunteers were equipped with posters and donation boxes before heading to various hotspots near the college. Their mission: to collect generous contributions and kickstart our fundraising efforts. The collective enthusiasm set the stage for a promising and purposeful event. The energetic atmosphere and community involvement laid a solid foundation for the subsequent days of the event. Day two saw a dynamic combination of activities, commencing with a walkathon for cancer awareness. Adorned with pink bands symbolizing the collective fight against cancer, volunteers participated enthusiastically. Samskruthi Sambarama orchestrated a compelling flash mob, captivating attention and spreading awareness. Post-walkathon, volunteer groups resumed their hotspot collections, furthering the fundraising effort. The third day focused on fundraising within the BMSCE campus, concluding with a resounding success as the Rotaract Club of BMSCE successfully raised a remarkable 2.7 lakhs during this event. As the collections were completed, a poignant closing ceremony unfolded. Dr. Arjun S Kashyap from Shankara Cancer Hospital delivered an impactful speech on cancer awareness, further emphasizing the significance of the initiative. The president and secretary expressed gratitude for the collective efforts and shared thoughtful reflections on the event's impact. Dr. Arjun and ZRR RTR Madhusudan were duly honored with saplings as tokens of appreciation for their invaluable contributions. The event culminated with the announcement of winning teams, the distribution of certificates to volunteers, and a heartfelt vote of thanks. This comprehensive initiative not only raised substantial funds but also played a pivotal role in spreading awareness and engaging the community in the collective fight against cancer.
