The webinar on Women’s Menstrual Health and Hygiene, an International Service (ISD) collaboration between the Rotaract Club of BMSCE and the Rotaract Club of the University of Sri Jayawardenpura, Sri Lanka, in partnership with Zephyr: A Breeze of Reform, was a significant initiative. Established in 2019, Zephyr aims to empower menstruators through Sustainable Menstruation Kits and gender-inclusive period education. Operating in Odisha, Patna, and Dehradun, their recent successful stall marked a significant milestone. This cross-border collaboration further enriched the discussions and widened the scope of impact. The event featured two prominent speakers, Avani and Heet, who are currently students at Ashoka University. Avani, the Administration Department Head, manages webinars and outreach, while Heet, the Research and Development Head, focuses on crucial research for awareness campaigns. Both individuals are deeply committed to menstrual health and period awareness, actively fostering inclusive spaces for these vital conversations. During the event, which saw 100 participants in attendance, a range of topics was covered. These included the process and phases of menstruation, various menstrual products (such as pads, cups, and tampons), and detailed instructions on their usage. Discussions extended to encompass hygiene maintenance, family taboos, and myths surrounding menstruation. There were also inquiries about conditions like PCOD and PCOS, exploring their impact on menstrual cycle regularity. The active involvement of the audience created a positive and engaging atmosphere, encouraging the speakers to persist in their meaningful efforts. The genuine interest demonstrated by the attendees not only affirmed the significance of the topic but also instilled hope for positive advancements in discussions surrounding menstrual health for future generations.
