The Rotaract Club of BMSCE, in collaboration with Team Hasiru, conducted a Plantation Drive on 28th February 2024, from 7:00 am to 2:00 pm. The event began with the selection of approximately 10 volunteers from BMS College of Engineering, who were joined by employees from various companies. The volunteers were then transported to the plantation site near Hesaraghatta, where they arrived by 9:00 am. At the site, the volunteers were introduced to Vijay Nishanth, popularly known as the 'tree doctor,' who is actively involved in the citizens' movement to preserve Hesaraghatta's biodiversity. The participants were provided with a handbook on trees and were given detailed instructions on plantation techniques, including the dos and don'ts. Each volunteer was paired with two employees, and together they engaged in planting saplings for about 2-3 hours. Following the first plantation session, a short 15-20 minute break was provided, during which refreshments were served. After the break, another plantation session of about an hour was conducted. The event concluded with a lunch for all participants around 2:00 pm. Overall, the Plantation Drive was a successful initiative that not only resulted in the planting of a significant number of saplings but also provided valuable practical experience to the participants. The collaboration between students, professionals, and environmental activists exemplified the spirit of community involvement in environmental conservation efforts
