In a collaborative effort, the Rotaract Club of Atria I.T. and the Interact Club of Bangalore South joined forces to host Saathi 3.0, a transformative event aimed at fostering connections and addressing pressing issues within marginalized communities and donating sanitary napkins. Venturing into a slum nestled near Jaynagar, the clubs encountered the Empower Women's Trust Organization, a beacon of hope for approximately 200 women and numerous children. Amidst the backdrop of adversity, the organization provided essential tutoring services and shelter for widows and victims of child marriage. Engaging with the residents, the volunteers delved into candid discussions, seeking to understand the multifaceted challenges confronting the community. Heartbreakingly, stories emerged of the pervasive influence of substance abuse, notably the alarming effects of ganja on young minds. Equally distressing were accounts of underage pregnancies and the harrowing reality of abortions among the youngest members of the community. Donated around 150 sanitary napkins to the women in the trust.
