The Rotaract Club of Marathahalli and Rotary Bangalore Midtown, in association with VAAYU Respiratory Foundation - VORIC (Vaayu Occupational Respiratory Illness Clinic), presents an initiative to protect high-risk occupations. “An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.” - Benjamin Franklin Led by Dr. Ravindra Mehta and his expert team, VAAYU focuses on improving respiratory health through comprehensive outpatient care, prevention, early detection, and improving quality of life for those with chronic respiratory diseases. Purpose: Screen, Test, Educate, and Medicate (STEM) Targeted Occupations: Traffic policemen, bus drivers (KSRTC, BMTC), construction workers, municipal workers (BBMP), firefighters, and auto and taxi drivers. Services: Vital checks, chest X-rays, lung function tests, expert consultations, free medications, and follow-up advice. Impact: Having screened over 2500 traffic police personnel, this initiative provides comprehensive screening, immediate treatment, educational outreach, and data collection to aid policy improvement. It aims to significantly improve respiratory health in high-risk occupations and support policy makers with vital data.
