BRIEF DESCRIPTION: "Harmony in the Herd '' was a unique and enriching Gaushala visit held on July 21, 2024, starting at 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Hosted at Akhil Karnataka Prani Daya Sangh Gaushala in Koramangala, this event provided participants with an immersive experience in the serene and compassionate world of cow protection and care. EVENT DESCRIPTION: The event commenced with a warm welcome to all the participants. They were given a guided tour of the gaushala. The tour was both educational and interactive, providing insights into the daily operations and the care practices employed to ensure the well-being of the cows and bulls. The participants also got to meet all the passionate volunteers in the Gaushala who were devoted to serving the cows. The guide also explained the significance of each section within the gaushala. One of the most anticipated activities was feeding the herd. Participants were provided with feed and given the opportunity to personally feed approximately 100 exquisite cows and bulls. The event concluded with a very heartwarming Gaupooja, where all the volunteers got to pray and perform pooja. The Gaushala also very kindly provided the participants with prasad and refreshments. SPECIAL HIGHLIGHTS: “Harmony in the Herd” was a very refreshing event organized with a vision of awareness and welfare of the cows. The event attracted 15 very enthusiastic volunteers who got exclusive insights on wellness and functioning of Gaushalas. Participants had the unique opportunity to feed around 100 cows and bulls directly. This interactive experience allowed them to connect with the animals on a personal level, fostering a sense of compassion and joy while nurturing these gentle creatures. IMPACT ON ATTENDEES: Through the event, the participants got to learn about the various breeds of cows and bulls, their dietary needs, and the traditional and modern methods used to care for them. This hands-on experience enhanced a sense of connection and compassion towards the animals, highlighting the gentle nature of these creatures and the joy of nurturing them. Overall, "Harmony in the Herd" was a successful event that not only provided a memorable experience for the participants but also fostered a deeper understanding and appreciation of the role of gaushalas.
