On July 27, 2024, the Rotaract Club of Bangalore Aagneya, in collaboration with Hands 4 Society, organized a program to raise awareness about cervical cancer and the Human Papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine. Speaker: The session was led by Dr. Jyothi B S, Head of the Department and Professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at MS Ramaiah Medical College. Dr. Jyothi was introduced to the attendees as the Speaker for the Day. Session Highlights: The session provided valuable insights into cervical cancer and the available vaccines to prevent it. Dr. Jyothi gave a comprehensive explanation of how cervical cancer can affect individuals and the protective role of vaccinations. The 60-70 attendees received accurate information about cervical cancer, including its causes, diagnostic process, and primary symptoms. Additionally, the speaker shared data on the mortality rate caused by the cancer and the effectiveness of the vaccine in preventing it.
