On 13th August 2024, students of Rotaract club of Mount Carmel College, Bengaluru were treated to an informative and engaging seminar, 'Duty, Honor, Country: Insights from an Army Officer’ conducted by the Professional Development Avenue. It was hosted by Rtr. Roopjot Kaur, a core team member of the RaCMCC Professional Development Team. It featured a special guest, Colonel Bunny Malhotra, a 93 batch, serving third generation officer of the Indian Army. He has specialized in Ground Based Air Defense, and has served in all terrains of the Indian subcontinent. He has also seen deputations in DGQA and DRDO. Presently, he is serving in the desert sector. This podcast-style event explored the life and experiences of a military officer, dispelling common misconceptions and providing a glimpse into the inner workings of the Army. The Audience was amazed by the insights he gave, making the event more special in every Indian student's heart, giving knowledge and memory which will be remembered on Independence Day. The audience learnt a lot, but the team together learnt something more- working together, which the officer beautifully explained as well. Army is what it is due to its discipline and teamwork, two qualities which is necessary in every job. Learn from the country, and give to the country. Doing your job well, and helping the society is as good as being in Army. We being in the Rotaract club is itself an honor and example of this- and we should be proud that we are giving back and honoring the society.
