Siddiah Referral Hospital, Bangalore - Participants: 9 - Volunteering Hours: 9 hours - Expenses/Contribution: Rs. 3553 On August 11, 2024, Rotaract Club of Koramangala embarked on a meaningful journey to support new mothers at H. Siddhiah Referral Hospital in Bangalore. Our initiative, Janani Usiru, focuses on promoting maternal health, nutrition, and hygiene practices. A Morning of Guidance and Support At 10:30 AM, our team of 9 volunteers, led by Project Chairs Rtr. Deepika Dharmaiah and Rtr. Simran P. Kanchagar, arrived at the hospital. We were accompanied by Dr. Bharathi A.V., a renowned nutrition specialist, who generously shared her expertise with the patients. Interactive Session and Q&A Dr. Bharathi engaged with each patient, offering personalized advice on postnatal care, hygiene, nutrition, and child health. The session culminated in a Q&A segment, where she addressed concerns and doubts of new mothers regarding childbirth and postnatal care. Nutrition Kits and Shawls Distribution To support the new mothers, we distributed nutrition kits containing roasted groundnuts, milk, sprouts, fruits, and a shawl. These kits aimed to promote healthy eating habits and provide comfort during the postnatal period. We extend our gratitude to Dr. Bharathi A.V. for her invaluable guidance, the hospital staff for their cooperation, and our volunteers for their dedication. Together, we made a difference in the lives of new mothers, empowering them with knowledge and support.
