On the 24th of September 2024, we hosted a delightful edition of Rotareads, conducted virtually via Google Meet. With an impressive turnout of 50 enthusiastic volunteers, the theme for this session was the ever-popular genre, romantic comedies (romcom). The event was filled with warmth and positivity as volunteers shared their favourite romcom books, adding depth to everyone’s reading lists. It was a sweet and enriching experience to delve into the world of romcoms, where humour and love intertwine. Many participants introduced lesser-known gems, while others brought in classic titles, sparking vibrant discussions and generating excitement about future reads. The exchange of recommendations not only broadened our literary horizons but also strengthened the sense of community among the volunteers. The virtual Rotareads experience was seamless, allowing for meaningful interactions despite the online setting. The atmosphere was light-hearted, filled with laughter and camaraderie, reflecting the very essence of the genre we were exploring. Overall, it was a truly lovely session, leaving everyone with smiles and an eagerness to dive into more romcom books.
