A workshop on the "Psychological and Social Impact of Sexual Violence" was organized by the Rotaract Club of Young Visionaries (RID 3011) in collaboration with the Rotaract Club of Jyoti Nivas College. The session aimed to address the complex and often devastating effects of sexual violence on individuals and communities, providing a comprehensive understanding of this critical issue. The event attracted a diverse audience, including students, professionals, and community members, all eager to learn about the implications of sexual violence on mental health and social dynamics. The workshop featured a series of insightful sessions led by distinguished experts in the field. Topics covered included the psychological trauma experienced by survivors, such as anxiety, depression, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Additionally, discussions highlighted the social ramifications, including stigma, victim-blaming, and the obstacles survivors face in seeking justice and support. Interactive elements were integral to the workshop, with participants engaging in group discussions, role-playing scenarios, and Q&A sessions. These activities provided attendees the opportunity to explore real-world applications of the concepts discussed, share personal experiences, and develop practical strategies for supporting survivors. A primary goal of the workshop was to raise awareness about the prevalence of sexual violence and dismantle myths surrounding it. By equipping participants with accurate information and fostering open dialogue, the workshop sought to challenge entrenched attitudes and promote a more informed, empathetic perspective. It also emphasized the importance of effective support systems, including counseling, legal aid, and community resources, which are crucial for the recovery and empowerment of survivors. Feedback from participants was overwhelmingly positive, with many expressing a deeper understanding of the issues and a renewed commitment to advocacy. The workshop successfully created a safe space for discussion and reflection, empowering attendees to take meaningful action in their communities. This event underscored the ongoing need for education and dialogue on this vital issue, paving the way for future initiatives and continued advocacy.
