Rotaract Club of Mount Carmel College conducted "Blooming Smiles" plantation drive at Samartha Girls Home, a community service initiative aimed at nurturing both the environment and the spirits of the children at the home. This event saw enthusiastic participation from the girls, who planted a variety of saplings around their living space, contributing to the greenery of their surroundings. The plantation drive was not just an activity but an educational experience as well. Through engaging presentations and practical demonstrations, the girls were taught about different types of plants, their benefits, and the vital role they play in maintaining ecological balance. These interactive sessions helped the children understand the importance of trees in combating climate change, providing oxygen, and fostering biodiversity. After the plantation drive, the day took a celebratory turn as the birthday of one of our community service core team members was celebrated. The kids shared in the joy, with cakes being cut and treats like chips, juices, and chocolates being distributed. This moment of celebration brought smiles to everyone’s faces and created a warm, joyful atmosphere. "Blooming Smiles" was a heartwarming event that combined environmental education with a touch of festivity, leaving a lasting impact on the children while also promoting the values of sustainability and community bonding.
