On September 1st, 2024, the Rotaract Club of Bangalore Aagneya had the privilege of collaborating with Bhumi, one of India’s largest independent youth volunteer non-profits, for their flagship event Nakshatra. Nakshatra is an annual inter-children’s homes' sports and cultural fest that unites thousands of children from shelter homes across India, offering them a platform to shine and celebrate their talents. This year’s Nakshatra took place at St. Francis College in Koramangala, Bangalore, where over 700 children from 24 shelter homes gathered for a day of joy, competition, and celebration. It was more than just an event—it was a moment to celebrate the dreams and potential of these children. The Rotaract Club of Bangalore Aagneya sponsored lunch, ensuring that the children enjoyed a nutritious meal during their special day. Working closely with Bhumi and the food vendors, we ensured that everything ran smoothly. Around 25 of our volunteers were present on the day, assisting in various roles—whether managing logistics, coordinating activities, or simply cheering on the children as they performed and competed. The smiles on their faces were a reminder of how impactful even the smallest effort can be. 🧡 Nakshatra was a beautiful example of what can be achieved when people come together for a cause greater than themselves. We are grateful to have been part of this day, and we look forward to contributing to many more such moments of joy and hope. 🌟
