The "Empower & Defend" webinar, organized by the Rotaract Club of Jyoti Nivas College in collaboration with the Rotaract Club of Bahauddin Zakariya University and other collaborating clubs, aimed to raise awareness about women's safety and self-defense. The objectives of the event included: - Educating Participants: To provide essential knowledge regarding women's safety and self-defense - Promoting Awareness: To discuss the importance of preventive measures in various situations - Empowering Women: To motivate participants to challenge societal norms and attitudes towards women The session was led by the keynote speaker, Adv. Sweta Chowdhary, a Legal Counsel and Advisor with the Women Safety Wing of the Telangana Police. Her expertise provided valuable insights into the legal frameworks supporting women's rights. The speaker shared impactful real-life stories about abuse, child marriage, and sexual harassment, fostering a deeper understanding of these societal issues. Participants also learned about specific laws in Telangana that protect women and promote their safety. The session encouraged participants to voice their concerns and ask questions about handling potentially dangerous situations.
