BRIEF DESCRIPTION: Ganeshotsav, an event organized in collaboration with Rotaract South West and Rotaract High Grounds partnered with: Rotaract Club of BTM Layout Rotaract Club of Bangalore Udyog Rotaract Club of Banashankari Rotaract Club of Jyoti Nivas College Rotaract Club of Jain Evening College Rotaract Club of GEMS B School Rotaract Club of TSMT Rotaract Club of Vidyaranyapura Rotaract Club of IIFT Rotaract Club of KSSEM Rotaract Club of NMIT Rotaract Club of Bangalore JP Nagar HR Prints Innovation Creation Custom Create was held on 22nd September 2024 at the office of MLA R. Ashok in Banashankari. The aim of Ganeshotsav was to celebrate Lord Ganesha, the remover of obstacles, and promote unity and cultural awareness within the community. It strengthened bonds among Rotaract clubs while highlighting the importance of preserving cultural traditions and the spiritual significance of Lord Ganesha's blessings in our lives. EVENT DESCRIPTION: The event began with the sacred ritual of Ganesha Prana Pratishtapane (invoking the life force into the Ganesha idol), followed by Ganesha Pooja and Aarthi. After the pooja, prasadam was distributed to all attendees, symbolizing the divine blessings of Lord Ganesha. All women were offered Arashina Kunkuma, a traditional gesture of respect and well-being. In the cultural segment, members from our Rotaract Club performed two devotional songs and a classical dance in service to Lord Ganesha. Various other Rotaract clubs also participated by presenting songs and dances, creating a vibrant and spiritually uplifting atmosphere. After the cultural performances, a community lunch was organized, fostering camaraderie and fellowship. The afternoon continued with a quiz based on the mythological stories of Lord Ganesha, followed by a light-hearted musical chair game. The event culminated with the Maha Mangalarati, a grand offering of light to Lord Ganesha, and the Visarjane (immersion of the idol), accompanied by dance and devotion as participants celebrated with bhakti. SPECIAL HIGHLIGHTS: The event offered a unique opportunity for coordination and the building of new bonds with other Rotaract clubs, strengthening inter-club relationships. The presence of Honored MLA R. Ashok added significance to the Ganeshotsav, as he was a special guest and participant in the celebrations. The Visarjane ceremony, full of energy and devotion, was a profound and unifying moment for all attendees. IMPACT ON ATTENDEES: The blessings of Lord Ganesha deeply touched all attendees, reminding us of the importance of overcoming obstacles and inspiring wisdom and success. The festival emphasized the need to preserve and respect our traditions, connecting us with our roots and instilling these values in future generations to honor our cultural heritage.
