The Rotaract Club of Atria Institute of Technology took proactive steps to address the issue of stagnant water in the streets of Chickpet, a significant contributor to the dengue outbreak in Bengaluru. Through the efforts of their director, Rtr. Rakesh, the club was able to establish communication with representatives from the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP), who were actively spraying repellents in the stagnant water to combat the carrier mosquitoes responsible for dengue transmission. The club members joined forces with the BBMP representatives, participating in the spraying of a liquid repellent. This involved adding a powder to the water and utilizing a mechanical hand pump for effective application. The directors expressed their gratitude for the opportunity to support the diligent BBMP workers in their efforts to eliminate the breeding grounds for mosquitoes. This initiative not only showcased the club's commitment to public health and community service but also emphasized the importance of collaboration in tackling pressing issues like dengue prevention.
