On October 14, the Rotaract Club of BMSCE hosted “Placement Walkthrough,” an intensive workshop designed to prepare students for the job market through hands-on learning and practical guidance. The event covered critical areas essential for career readiness, aiming to equip participants with the skills needed to confidently step into the corporate world. The session began with Resume Mastery, where experts guided students on creating standout resumes. Participants learned to highlight skills, achievements, and projects in ways that capture recruiters’ attention, including techniques to tailor resumes to specific roles. Interview Excellence followed, featuring mock interviews where professionals provided live feedback on responses, body language, and overall confidence. This interactive session allowed students to practice answering common questions and receive guidance on presenting themselves with poise during interviews. Next was Networking & Personal Branding, where students explored the importance of building a professional presence. They were shown how to leverage LinkedIn, personal websites, and social media to showcase their achievements and create a memorable personal brand. Recognizing the value of soft skills, the workshop included Soft Skills Focus activities such as role-plays on communication, teamwork, and leadership. This segment provided students with a practical setting to refine these vital skills. The session also introduced Internship & Job Search Strategies, including job search techniques and networking tips, with placement officers advising on using job portals and alumni networks effectively. An Expert Panel of HR professionals and industry veterans concluded the event, offering insights into hiring trends and sought-after skills. By the end, students walked away with valuable tools for their job search journey—from creating a compelling resume to networking and mastering essential skills—leaving them more prepared and motivated to enter the corporate world.
