On October 4th, 2024, the Rotaract Club of Atria I.T., in collaboration with the Karnataka Paper Merchants and Stationers Association, organized a meaningful notebook donation event for the young residents of Sumangali Sevashram. This initiative aimed to support the educational needs of 150 girls at the ashram, providing them with vital resources that are often limited. The Book Association generously contributed 500 notebooks to help fulfill the students' academic requirements, demonstrating the community’s commitment to nurturing young minds. Rotaract members and volunteers actively participated, engaging with the children, distributing notebooks, and sharing in the joy of the donation. This interaction not only fostered a sense of community but also emphasized the significance of educational support as a pathway to future opportunities. The staff at Sumangali Sevashram expressed their heartfelt gratitude, noting the positive impact these resources would have on the children's daily studies and overall learning experience. The event was graced by S. G. Susheelamma, recipient of the Dr. Durgabai Deshmukh Award (2006), who runs Sumangali Seva Ashram and has dedicated herself to the upliftment of underprivileged children and women. Joining the event were Vinod, president of the Karnataka Paper Merchants and Stationers Association, and Moolji, the association's secretary. Vinod and Moolji engaged in a meaningful discussion with Susheelamma about the ashram's mission and the lasting impact that such donations can have on the girls' education and development. This notebook donation event exemplified Rotaract’s commitment to making a positive impact in local communities by promoting access to essential educational resources. Through this collaboration, the Rotaract Club and its partners have not only supported the students' immediate academic needs but also empowered them with tools for a brighter future.
