On 15th October 2024, the Rotaract Club of SSMRV organized a poignant PR initiative on Instagram in observance of International Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day. To honor the resilience of mothers who have experienced the heartbreak of losing a child during pregnancy, our club members and Board of Directors (BODs) posted stories holding candles, each story tagged to the club’s official account. This candlelight gesture symbolized our compassion, respect, and solidarity with all mothers who have endured this unique sorrow. This initiative aligns with Rotary’s focus on Maternal and Child Health, emphasizing the importance of emotional and community support for maternal well-being. Our intention was to bring light to a subject often overshadowed by silence and to remind those affected that they are seen, valued, and supported. We recognize the significance of acknowledging pregnancy and infant loss and the importance of fostering a compassionate environment that honors both the lives lost and the strength of the mothers left behind. By posting these stories, we hoped to create a virtual space of remembrance, support, and collective empathy. It’s our club’s aim to stand beside these mothers in their journey and to inspire broader awareness about maternal health, mental well-being, and community care. This initiative reflects our commitment to compassionate service, making a small but meaningful impact in the lives of those who need it most.
