The Rotaract Club of NMIMS recently organized a visit to a local pet shelter Sarvoham Foundation, as part of their community service initiative. During the visit, the members had the opportunity to interact with dogs that had been injured and were in the process of recovery. The shelter provided a safe space for these animals, and the Rotaract members spent time playing with the dogs, offering them comfort and care. Their interaction with the animals not only helped in boosting the dogs' spirits but also fostered a sense of empathy and compassion among the volunteers. This initiative was aimed at raising awareness about animal welfare and the importance of adopting shelter pets. The members learned about the challenges faced by shelters and the need for more support, whether in the form of donations or volunteer work. The experience was both heartwarming and eye-opening, further reinforcing the Rotaract Club's commitment to community service. This initiative showcased how Pets play a vital role in society, offering emotional support, companionship, and physical health benefits. They reduce loneliness, relieve stress, and encourage physical activity. Pets also create social bonds, foster empathy, and contribute to the economy through industries like veterinary care and pet services, enriching communities and individual lives alike.
