On November 6, 2024, the Rotaract Club of the University of Colombo, Faculty of Arts, in collaboration with the Rotaract Club of RVCE, hosted an enlightening online seminar titled Break the Taboo: Sex Education and Awareness Session. This impactful initiative aimed to foster open and honest conversations about sexual health, dismantling societal taboos and misconceptions surrounding the topic. The session provided participants with accurate, comprehensive information on crucial subjects such as consent, contraception, sexually transmitted infections (STIs), and healthy relationships. By addressing these themes, the event encouraged attendees to critically examine cultural stigmas, equipping them with the knowledge to make informed decisions about their sexual well-being. Through interactive discussions and expert insights, Break the Taboo sought to promote a culture of awareness and respect, empowering individuals to embrace a more informed perspective on sexuality while advocating for a healthier, stigma-free society.
