Rotaract Club of Medikardia Organizes Free Cardiac Camp in Avati On 16/11/2024 the Rotaract Club of Medikardia, in collaboration with the Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery (CTVS) team of Vydehi Institute of Medical Sciences and Research Center, conducted a remarkable free cardiac camp in Avati, a rural area located approximately 59 kilometers from Bangalore. This initiative was spearheaded by a team of 36 dedicated students and 20-25 medical professionals from the CTVS department, with the mission to provide accessible and high-quality cardiac care to the underserved communities in and around Avati. The camp was multifaceted, offering door-to-door health services across nine villages. Over 190 residents underwent blood sugar and blood pressure screenings, followed by free cardiac consultations. This grassroots approach not only raised awareness about cardiac health but also ensured that even those unable to visit the camp received essential care. The on-site camp witnessed 95 free 2D echocardiograms (echos) and ECGs conducted by a skilled medical team. These investigations identified several cardiac anomalies and health concerns, enabling timely interventions for many patients. The initiative provided comprehensive cardiologist consultations and essential diagnostic services entirely free of cost. This project was a testament to the dedication of young medical professionals who volunteered their weekend to serve the rural population. Their tireless efforts made a significant impact, bringing advanced medical care to those who need it most. The Rotaract Club of Medikardia is immensely proud of its members and the collaborative team for their hard work and commitment to making healthcare accessible. This camp stands as a shining example of how community-driven initiatives can bridge healthcare gaps and improve lives, reaffirming the club’s commitment to service above self.
