As part of the Kadlekayi Parishe initiative, members of the Rotaract Club of Bengaluru United joined hands with BBMP officials to take a proactive stand against single-use plastics and promote sustainable practices. Together, they successfully confiscated plastic carry bags and spoons from stalls, issuing warnings and fines to violators while raising awareness about the environmental hazards of such materials. The team also addressed noise pollution concerns by confiscating blow horns from vendors and youngsters, ensuring a more peaceful environment for visitors. A special mention goes to the dedicated efforts of club members who worked tirelessly in the preceding days to spread awareness. Thanks to their initiatives, nearly 99% of the stalls had already switched to eco-friendly alternatives, setting a solid foundation for the success of this drive. This collaborative effort highlighted the impact of community-driven action in fostering a cleaner, greener, and more sustainable future.
