Members of the Rotaract Club of Bangalore Aagneya participated in the RIDE hosted by District 3017, Sindhudurg. The journey began with an early morning arrival in Madgoan and a scenic train ride to Sawantwadi, where the Rising Youth Banda team welcomed everyone warmly at the station. Participants were hosted at Sanket’s residence for refreshments and snacks, showcasing the hospitality and kindness of the local team. The itinerary included an exploration of the region’s culture, starting with a traditional breakfast of ghavane and usal. Visits to significant temples such as Bandeshwar Mandir, Degve Temple, Sri Ram Temple, and Hanuman Temple enriched the experience and provided an opportunity to appreciate the local spirituality. A visit to Rohan's clothing shop added an unexpected cultural touch, where traditional Navvarri sarees were tried out, fostering community spirit. Lunch at Sanket’s residence, which featured soulkadi juice, was followed by downtime before heading to Shiroda Beach for the evening. The beach stay included a walk along the shore, dinner, and activities that brought participants together, creating a sense of camaraderie. The group was accompanied by local leaders, including Avdhoot (President), Ayush, Rohan, and Vineeta, who contributed to the welcoming atmosphere. The second day featured a shared breakfast with the Mysore 3181 team and an exhilarating kayaking session at Kondura Beach, where participants were well-supported by the hosts. Time was also spent exploring Sawantwadi’s renowned woodwork, with souvenirs like bags and fridge magnets being popular purchases. The evening included a formal meeting where members from four districts gathered, received badges and goodies, and shared their experiences. The night concluded with LHEs and dinner, followed by a farm stay. The final day began early with participants dressed in Navvarri sarees and kurta gifts from Rohan, perfect for a memorable photoshoot. Breakfast and lunch were enjoyed at the farm before a visit to Sawantwadi Palace, including a walk around Moti Lake and the garden. The day ended with tasting local chats and reflecting on the trip’s highlights. The journey concluded with the group being dropped off at Sawantwadi station. Despite a 2-hour train delay, the hosts ensured that participants were cared for until departure. The return journey to Bangalore was marked by reflections on an enriching experience that highlighted cultural immersion, new friendships, and lasting memories.
