From November 29 to December 1, 2024, Rtr. Bindu, the Community Service Director of the Rotaract Club of Atria I.T., had the privilege of visiting Delhi District 3011 with her Rotaract team. The experience was both enriching and memorable. Upon arrival in Delhi on November 29, 2024, Rtr. Bindu was greeted by the chilly weather and the haze of pollution, which made her momentarily miss the warmth of Bangalore. However, the hospitality of their hosts quickly made her feel at home. The team was welcomed into the home of one of the presidents, where her mother prepared a delicious breakfast, adding a personal touch to the trip. Later, they explored the bustling Sarojini Market, where they were joined by members from 4-5 other clubs. Together, they indulged in shopping and enjoyed the vibrant atmosphere. The group also experienced the metro system, which impressed Rtr. Bindu with its vast network, much larger than Bangalore’s. Their day continued with a visit to the Akshardham Temple, where they enjoyed a captivating water show before heading to Connaught Place for a lively exploration and a hearty dinner with over 30 Rotaractors. On the second day, the group participated in a marathon representing their district, 3191, followed by a cultural event. Rtr. Bindu’s team showcased Bangalore’s rich heritage, with one of their members performing Bharatanatyam, representing the community with great pride. The day also included a dance session, a delicious lunch, and valuable interactive meetings with Rotaractors and Rotarians, fostering new connections. In addition, Rtr. Bindu participated in 25 letterhead exchanges, strengthening bonds with Rotaract clubs from different regions. Later, they visited Bangla Sahib Gurudwara, where they savored the divine Karah Prasad and soaked in the peaceful ambiance. The team also visited iconic landmarks such as the Parliament, India Gate, and explored the beautifully lit streets of Delhi at night. Local delicacies like rajma chawal, chole chawal, chole momos, samosa chaat, and sweets offered them a true taste of Delhi’s culinary diversity. On the third day, the group had a delightful picnic at Sunder Nursery with members of Delhi’s Interact clubs. The day was filled with laughter, exploration, and the strengthening of connections. The trip concluded with a proud moment for the team as they won the cultural representation event for their district, 3191, and received a participation certificate. For Rtr. Bindu, representing the Rotaract Club of Atria I.T. at such a prestigious event was an immense honor, and she expressed her gratitude to the club president and team for making this journey possible. The trip was a perfect balance of exploration, learning, and fellowship, and the warmth of Delhi’s people and its vibrant culture made it an unforgettable experience.
