The Rotaract Club of Jyoti Nivas College, in collaboration with the Rotaract Club of Anand Institute of Higher Technology, organized an engaging and educational session titled “24 Shades of World” on December 7, 2024, at 11 AM. Sponsored by the Rotary Club of Chennai Silk City RID 3233, the event focused on the theme Women in Leadership Globally. The session aimed to celebrate and highlight the contributions of women leaders across various sectors while raising awareness about the gender roles and stereotypes that persist in leadership positions. The goal was to foster an environment conducive to discussion and learning about leadership and inclusivity. The session began with inspirational presentations, where both clubs prepared impactful PowerPoint slides that showcased the incredible journeys and accomplishments of women leaders from around the world. These presentations were designed not only to inspire but also to spark meaningful discussions about leadership, diversity, and the barriers women face in their respective fields. Following each presentation, an interactive Q&A session allowed participants to engage more deeply with the content, ask questions, and share their perspectives on gender equality in leadership. One of the highlights of the session was the riddle activity, initiated by the Rotaract Club of Jyoti Nivas College. This activity challenged participants' perceptions of gender roles in traditionally male-dominated professions, such as engineering and surgery. Through this exercise, attendees were encouraged to confront unconscious biases and reflect on how these stereotypes influence societal views on leadership and career choices. As the session came to a close, a group picture was taken, symbolizing the unity and shared commitment to promoting gender equality in leadership. Participants left the event with a greater appreciation for the invaluable contributions of women leaders and with a renewed motivation to advocate for gender equality within their communities. The 24 Shades of World session served as an eye-opener, inspiring attendees to challenge existing norms and work toward a more inclusive future. The event had a lasting impact on its participants by fostering a culture of inclusivity and respect. It encouraged everyone to challenge stereotypes, support one another in their leadership journeys, and champion the idea that leadership should be accessible to all, irrespective of gender. Through initiatives like this, the importance of women's leadership is emphasized, helping to create a more balanced and diverse world.
