Winter Paws was a heartwarming initiative aimed at supporting animal shelters during the colder months by providing essential supplies and comfort to sheltered dogs. This joint effort between Rotaract Club of Mount Carmel College and Rotaract Club of Bengaluru HSR focused on delivering warmth, care, and love to our four-legged friends while also addressing practical needs. The project began with a collection drive, where blankets, bedsheets, and other essential items were gathered from various localities from the Interactors of Lawrence High Scool. The collected materials were segregated with the help of Lawrence School Interactors on Dec 16, 2024 and they were then skillfully repurposed by the Fashion and Apparel Design (FAD) Association of Mount Carmel College. The team customized the blankets by adding 2–3 layers of bedsheets, ensuring they were smaller, thicker, and more durable—perfectly suited for dogs' needs. As a result, around 70 newly stitched blankets were prepared from old and torn bedsheets. In addition to the blankets, the drive successfully collected new dog collars, leashes, pet toys, dog beds, medicines and other essentials. With the funds collected dog food was bought for the shelters. On 21st December 2024, volunteers from both RaCMCC and RaC Bengaluru HSR visited two animal shelters. The volunteers not only distributed the collected supplies but also spent quality time with the dogs, engaging in activities like petting and playing, fostering moments of joy and companionship. Furthermore, the clubs extended their support by helping one of the shelters establish a stronger social media presence, enabling them to reach a wider audience for future support and adoption drives. 'Winter Paws' showcased the power of collaboration, compassion, and community effort in making a meaningful difference.
