On December 1, 2024, Rotaract Club of Bangalore SouthWest participated in Illusioners Escapade, a zonal outing organized by the clubs of Zonal Illusions. The zonal outing was conducted at Ramnagara, a city in Karnataka. Ramnagara is well known for its sericulture and is nicknamed the Silk Town and Silk City. The silk produced in this region forms the input for the famous Mysore silk. Ramanagara is the largest market for silk cocoons in Asia. 50 tonnes of cocoon a day arrive at the town. The day started with a morning gathering at the majestic railway station. The illusioners boarded a local train to Ramnagara to reach their destination. After reaching Ramnagara, the crowd headed towards Shantiniketan College, where they were served breakfast and morning tea to rejuvenate and bond with other club members. Post that, the illusioners headed for a small trek to Kunagalu Betta to explore its beauty and greenery, which changes colour, transforming into a cosy golden brownish. After completing the trek, the team came back to Shantiniketan College for a scrumptious plate of lunch. Once the lunch time ended, the formal zonal meet was called to order, where the club leaders from their respective clubs shared an update about their ongoing and upcoming initiatives. We also had our DRR Rtr. Rtn. Abhay Lohia and DG Rtn. Satish Madhavan, who addressed the gathering. Finally, the formal session ended with a small felicitation ceremony followed by a few updates shared by our ZRR, Rtr. Madhusudhan and Rtr. Harshitha. The day ended with some dancing over DJ songs, cute takeaways, a group picture, and a bunch of memories to cherish for life.
