The Rotaract Club of Banashankari celebrated the vibrant festival of Sankranti with great enthusiasm, bringing together club members and their families for a day filled with traditions, joy, and togetherness. A Traditional Start to the Celebration The day began with members dressing up in traditional attire, adding a festive charm to the occasion. The venue was beautifully decorated with rangoli, flowers, and sugarcane, symbolizing the essence of Sankranti. A special puja was performed, where members and their families offered prayers for prosperity and well-being. Fun Activities & Kite Flying No Sankranti celebration is complete without kite flying, and the sky was soon filled with colorful kites soaring high. Members and their families enthusiastically participated in the kite battle, trying to outfly each other, making it one of the highlights of the event. The cheers and laughter added to the festive spirit. Apart from kite flying, several traditional games and cultural activities were organized, including: 🎯 Pot-breaking game (Uriyadi) – A fun challenge that brought out the competitive spirit in everyone. 🏆 Tug of war – A thrilling team event that had both kids and adults participating with great energy. 🎭 Storytelling & folklore session – Sharing the significance of Sankranti, Bhogi, and Kanuma traditions. Delicious Sankranti Feast Food played a major role in the celebration, with a special festival feast including: 🍛 Ellu Bella (Sesame and Jaggery mix) – Symbolizing harmony and positivity. 🍲 Sweet Pongal, Sakkare Pongal, and sugarcane – A festive delight enjoyed by all. 🥗 Traditional home-cooked dishes prepared by members' families, making it a feast to remember. A Celebration of Togetherness The event ended on a heartwarming note, with members exchanging Sankranti wishes, distributing Ellu Bella, and capturing memorable moments through photos and videos.
