We the members of Rotaract Bangalore Vijayanagar proudly presented Kamadhenu 2.0, an inspiring initiative dedicated to supporting and caring for cows while fostering community spirit. This year, we expanded our efforts by donating 200 kg of fresh, nutritious fodder to Shri Onkar Goshala, near the serene Shivagange Hills. The event began with a heartfelt cow worship ceremony, where we sought blessings from these sacred animals. The atmosphere was filled with devotion and purity, setting a meaningful tone for the day. We then eagerly fed the cows with a fodder mixture of green grass and other nutrients, ensuring their health and well-being. The goshala is home to around 150 cows, including the indigenous Hallikar breed from Karnataka and the Gir breed from Rajasthan. Spending time with these gentle creatures, observing their calm demeanor, and caring for them was an incredibly rewarding experience. Beyond the hands-on activities, we also had the opportunity to learn about the cows’ lifestyle and their immense significance to both human life and the ecosystem. Understanding their role in sustainable agriculture, biodiversity, and spiritual practices deepened our appreciation for these vital beings. We were delighted to be joined by two of our esteemed Rotarians, whose presence brought even more enthusiasm and togetherness to the event. Their encouragement and participation added to the collective joy, making the day even more memorable. Together, we move forward with hearts full of gratitude and a renewed commitment to serving our community and protecting the environment.
