The Rotaract Club of Mount Carmel College, in collaboration with the Rotaract Club of Jyoti Nivas College, organized an insightful session titled "Time Titans – Manage and Conquer" on 15th February 2025 via Google Meet. The session was led by Mr. Joshua Francis, who engaged the participants in various activities and discussions focused on time management, goal setting, and personal growth. The session began with an interactive activity where participants had to count the number of times the letter "f" appeared in a paragraph. The varied responses highlighted the importance of focus, setting the stage for a deeper discussion on attention and efficiency. Mr. Joshua emphasized the significance of pursuing one’s dreams, working in silence without seeking validation, and learning from past experiences. He encouraged participants to be selective about the advice they take and to seek guidance from successful individuals in their desired fields. A key activity involved creating a "circle of life" to assess and prioritize different aspects of one’s current lifestyle. Participants ranked these aspects from 1 to 10, helping them identify areas for improvement. He also introduced the 8+8+8 rule, which suggests allocating eight hours each for sleep, study, and other essential activities, ensuring a balanced and productive life. Further, Mr. Joshua spoke about finding one’s purpose and combating burnout by identifying passions, making conscious efforts, and preparing before major transitions. He stressed the importance of goal setting and guided participants in writing down their goals effectively. He outlined three key principles: goals should be positive, detailed with specifics like "when," "where," and "with whom," and written with a strong belief in achieving them. Participants were also encouraged to write down their aspirations as part of an activity. Towards the end, a time management questionnaire was presented, where participants assessed their efficiency by scoring their responses. This exercise provided insight into their time management skills, and Mr. Joshua recommended repeating it monthly to track improvements. The session concluded with valuable takeaways on productivity, discipline, and self-improvement, leaving participants motivated to manage their time more effectively and work towards their goals with clarity and confidence.
