Pawsome Strokes was the second chapter of Winter Paws, a joint initiative by the Rotaract Club of Mount Carmel College and Rotaract Club of Bengaluru HSR. This project, sponsored by Rotary HSR and Rotary Midtown, aimed to brighten up Love for Forgotten, a pet shelter, through mural painting while also spreading joy among the rescued animals. The initiative took place over two full days, on 9th February and 23rd February, with dedicated volunteers working to transform the shelter’s walls. The first phase involved sketching, ensuring that the murals were well-planned and aligned with the shelter’s atmosphere and then vibrant colors brought the sketches to life, making the space more visually appealing and lively. The artwork not only enhanced the shelter’s environment but also reflected themes of love, compassion, and animal welfare. Beyond painting, the volunteers had the heartwarming opportunity to interact with over 100 dogs and cats residing at the shelter. Spending time with these animals added a unique emotional depth to the project, creating a cheerful and affectionate atmosphere for both the volunteers and the shelter animals. Through Pawsome Strokes, RaCMCC and Rotaract Bengaluru HSR successfully combined art, service, and animal welfare. This initiative reinforced the importance of supporting animal shelters and creating a more welcoming space for rescued pets.
