The Rotaract Club of Mount Carmel College, India, and the Rotaract Club of Royal Institute of Colombo, Sri Lanka, jointly organized a blood donation camp on February 10, 2025. The event, held from 10 am to 4:30 pm, collected 115 units of blood from over 200 participants. Volunteers, teachers, and students expressed their satisfaction with the event's success. "It's amazing to see so many people come forward to donate blood," said one volunteer. A teacher noted, "The enthusiasm of the students was inspiring." The event's organizers were thrilled with the turnout, considering it was their first joint project. To show appreciation for their efforts, refreshments were provided to volunteers, teachers, doctors, nurses, and blood donors. Special arrangements were made for the donors, who were given bananas and pomegranate juice to replenish their energy. Both hospitals, Bowring and Lions Blood Bank, presented certificates of appreciation to the institute and the donors. Due to time constraints, the event had to be concluded earlier than expected, leaving many potential donors unable to participate. Despite this, the event was deemed a success, with both hospitals praising the efforts of the organizers. As one volunteer aptly put it, "Every drop counts, and today we made a difference." The event showcased the power of international collaboration and the commitment of young individuals to making a difference in their communities. The Rotaract Club members demonstrated exceptional teamwork, dedication, and leadership skills, ensuring the event's smooth execution. The success of this event will inspire future collaborations and community service initiatives.
