BRIEF DESCRIPTION: Artshala: Creative Canvas, a collaborative initiative by the Rotaract Club of BMSCE and the NGO ConnectFor, brought together a group of passionate volunteers to transform the walls of Government Urdu Higher Primary Boys School into vibrant, inspiring murals. This initiative aimed to create a more engaging and stimulating learning environment for the students, fostering creativity and positivity through art. EVENT DESCRIPTION: On the morning of February 16th, volunteers from the Rotaract Club of BMSCE and ConnectFor gathered at the Government Urdu Higher Primary Boys School in Sultanpet, Bangalore, to participate in Artshala: Creative Canvas. The event was a collaborative effort to revitalize the school’s walls with colorful and meaningful artwork. Volunteers, ranging from professional artists to enthusiastic beginners, worked together to design and paint murals that reflected themes of education, hope, and community. The event began with a brief introduction and orientation, where volunteers were divided into teams and assigned specific sections of the school walls. Over the course of three hours, the teams brought their creative visions to life, using brushes, paints, and stencils to create stunning visuals. The murals included motivational quotes, depictions of nature, and abstract designs, all aimed at inspiring the students and creating a more welcoming atmosphere. Behind the scenes, weeks of planning went into ensuring the event’s success. The project chairs coordinated with school authorities to secure permissions, sourced art supplies, and organized pre-event meetings to finalize designs and logistics. Volunteers were also briefed on safety protocols and the importance of maintaining a clean workspace. The collaboration between Rotaract Club of BMSCE and ConnectFor was instrumental in bringing together resources and volunteers, ensuring a smooth and impactful event.
