On the occasion of World Cancer Day, observed annually on February 4th, Rotaract Club of DAPM RVDC in association with Rotary JP Nagar, student welfare committee and Department of Oral Medicine and Radiology organized an awareness program aimed at educating students and faculty on cancer prevention. The event commenced with a warm welcome, where our esteemed guests were greeted with a bouquet, followed by an introductory speech from a board member. G., Senior Consultant, Radiation Oncology, HCG Dr. Poonam Mourya provided valuable insights into the causes of cancer and emphasized how adopting a healthier lifestyle can significantly reduce the risk of its occurrence. Her session was not only informative but also highly motivating, encouraging attendees to cultivate a positive outlook when addressing cancer awareness and prevention. Dr. Hasib A. G. elaborated on the prevalence, causes, and clinical aspects of cancer. He stressed the importance of making small yet impactful lifestyle changes, such as maintaining an active routine, to improve overall well-being. His session was engaging, offering practical knowledge that resonated with the audience. The event also featured an interactive Q&A session, where participants actively engaged in discussions, shared opinions, and had their queries addressed by the experts. The program concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by a board member, expressing gratitude to the speakers, guests, and attendees for their participation. Overall, the event was a resounding success, fulfilling its objective of raising awareness and encouraging proactive steps towards cancer prevention.
