This hour-long session, scheduled from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM, aimed to raise awareness and foster a deeper understanding of the juvenile justice system in India, with a special focus on rehabilitation. Miss Rituraj, an expert in the field, provided a comprehensive overview of the factors contributing to juvenile delinquency, such as socio-economic conditions, family dynamics, and peer pressure. She highlighted the importance of addressing the root causes of these crimes rather than solely focusing on punishment. A key aspect of the talk was the exploration of the existing juvenile rehabilitation programs in India. Miss Rituraj discussed the role of various stakeholders, including government agencies, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), and society, in supporting the rehabilitation and reintegration of young offenders. She elaborated on the challenges faced by the juvenile justice system, including overcrowded juvenile homes, lack of resources, and inconsistencies in the application of juvenile laws across different states. Furthermore, she emphasized the need for a more holistic approach to juvenile justice, one that balances the importance of accountability with the need for reform and reintegration. The session also provided an interactive platform for the participants, with 67 donors actively engaging in the discussion. The Q&A segment allowed the audience to ask questions and share their thoughts, creating a dynamic exchange of ideas. Miss Rituraj's expertise and thought-provoking responses helped deepen the participants' understanding of juvenile rehabilitation and the need for systemic reforms. Overall, the event succeeded in not only educating the participants but also in sparking a broader conversation on the vital issue of juvenile justice and rehabilitation in India.
