In the second week of Skill A Week, the Rotaract Club of Banashankari organized an engaging Art and Craft Workshop for students from 7th to 10th standard at Sunkenahalli Government School. The session was led by Rtr. Anuja and Rtr. Mariya, who introduced the students to the basics of drawing, helping them develop their artistic skills and understand the fundamentals of sketching, shading, and using simple drawing tools effectively. In addition to the drawing basics, Rtr. Arjun, a guest trainer from our sister club, the Rotaract Club of BMS College of Engineering, led a special activity where students learned how to make roses out of craft sheets. This hands-on craft activity allowed the students to explore their creativity and create beautiful, handmade roses, which they could take home as a reminder of the session. To support their learning, each student was provided with a stationery kit, which included essential items such as notebooks, pens, and pencils, ensuring they had the tools necessary for both the art session and their academic work. Impact: The students actively participated in the session, showing enthusiasm for both drawing and the craft activity. They not only learned new skills but also gained confidence in their creative abilities. The combination of drawing lessons and craft-making allowed students to express themselves artistically while developing fine motor skills and patience. Overall, Week 2 of Skill A Week was a success, offering students the opportunity to explore their creativity through drawing and crafting. The distribution of stationery kits further supported their academic and creative growth, setting a positive tone for the upcoming weeks of the initiative.
