In the third week of Skill A Week, the Rotaract Club of Banashankari organized a Public Speaking Workshop for the students of Sunkenahalli Government School. The session, aimed at enhancing communication skills and boosting confidence, was led by Rtr. Sahana and Rtr. Prajwal, who introduced students to the fundamentals of effective public speaking. The workshop covered important aspects of public speaking, including how to structure a speech, maintain eye contact, control nervousness, and engage the audience. Through practical exercises, Rtr. Sahana and Rtr. Prajwal encouraged the students to step out of their comfort zones and practice speaking in front of their peers. The students participated in short impromptu speeches, which helped them build confidence and improve their articulation skills. The session also focused on the importance of body language, tone, and clarity while speaking, giving students the tools they need to express themselves effectively in front of an audience. By the end of the workshop, the students had gained valuable public speaking tips and were more confident in their ability to speak clearly and confidently. Impact: The workshop was highly interactive, and students showed great enthusiasm in practicing their public speaking skills. Many participants reported feeling more comfortable and less nervous about speaking in front of others. The session not only helped improve their communication skills but also boosted their self-confidence, which will benefit them in both academic presentations and personal development. Week 3 of Skill A Week was a success, providing students with the essential skill of public speaking. The session equipped them with tools to communicate more effectively, build their confidence, and improve their public speaking abilities—skills they can carry with them throughout their lives.
