In a collaborative effort between the Rotaract Club of Banashankari and the Rotaract Club of BMS College of Engineering, Project PAD was launched to promote menstrual hygiene and ensure that young girls have access to sanitary products. The initiative aimed at addressing the challenges faced by students, especially in rural areas, regarding menstrual health management. As part of this drive, 50 packets of menstrual pads were donated to 50 students from the 8th to 10th standard at Sunkenahalli Government School. The goal was to ensure that these students had access to basic sanitary products, promoting better menstrual hygiene and encouraging open discussions about menstruation, which often remains a taboo subject. The donation was part of a broader effort to break the stigma surrounding menstruation and to ensure that all students, regardless of their financial background, have access to necessary health supplies. The donation of menstrual pads not only helped in addressing immediate needs but also served to educate the students about the importance of menstrual health and hygiene. Impact: The project was a success, with students expressing gratitude for receiving the much-needed menstrual hygiene products. This initiative provided them with a sense of dignity and empowerment, ensuring that they could attend school without the fear of missing out due to menstruation. Additionally, the project helped raise awareness about the importance of menstrual health and hygiene, promoting a healthier and more informed generation of young girls. Project PAD exemplified the commitment of the Rotaract Clubs to community service, health, and education, and it played an important role in promoting menstrual hygiene in an accessible and supportive manner for the students of Sunkenahalli Government School.
