BRIEF DESCRIPTION: "Khushiyon Ka Dabba" is a weekly food donation drive aimed at providing leftover food from Paying Guest hostels (PGs) to the underserved communities in Kempegowda Nagar slum area. The initiative focuses on reducing food wastage while addressing hunger in the local community. EVENT DESCRIPTION: "Khushiyon Ka Dabba" continued successfully in March 2025, maintaining its commitment to weekly food donations every Friday at 3 PM. The initiative expanded its reach further by introducing a new distribution location at Majestic Railway Station on March 7, 2025, where we received a highly positive response from the people in the area Each week, we collected, packaged, and distributed food to those in need while ensuring hygiene and quality. The meals served this month included Rice & Dal, Chapati & Curry, Pulao, and Poha (Avalakki). Food was primarily distributed in Kempegowda Nagar, with the addition of Majestic Railway Station on March 7 to extend our impact to a wider community. The backend operations remained efficient, involving strong coordination with both "Second Home PG" and "New SMS PG" for food collection. The PGs continued to show consistent support by contributing leftover meals every Friday. New expansion: Introduction of Majestic Railway Station as a new distribution point on March 7, receiving a great response from the local community. Community support: Strengthening relationships with PG hostels and expanding our outreach to new areas in need. IMPACT ON ATTENDEES: The food distribution event continued to provide relief to slum residents and the underprivileged, ensuring meals for those who might not have access to regular food. The inclusion of Majestic Railway Station as a new location allowed us to reach a new group of people who benefited significantly from the initiative. The smiles and gratitude from the attendees reaffirmed the importance of the work being done. BEHIND THE SCENES: Our coordination efforts with "Second Home PG" and "New SMS PG" ensured a steady supply of food every Friday. Once collected, the food was carefully packaged into individual portions, maintaining hygiene and quality standards. The logistics of food transport and distribution remained well-organized to ensure timely delivery to the intended recipients. As the initiative progresses, we continue to explore opportunities for more PGs to join and expand to additional locations, further increasing our impact in reducing food wastage and addressing hunger in the community.
