On the occasion of Mother’s Day, 11th May 2025, the Rotaract Club of RVCE, in collaboration with Bangalore Hospital and Rotary Bangalore South, organized a powerful Female Foeticide Awareness Walkathon. The event saw an overwhelming participation of over 300 individuals, including students, parents, teachers, and volunteers, united for a crucial social cause. The walkathon, spanning 5 kilometers, aimed to raise awareness about the alarming issue of female foeticide and to celebrate the essence of motherhood. The day began with a thought-provoking act by the English Drama Club of RVCE, setting the tone for the event. Participants were provided with specially designed T-shirts and refreshments to keep spirits high throughout the walk. The event successfully raised ₹1,80,000, which will be donated entirely to organizations working towards the eradication of female foeticide and the upliftment of the girl child. The collective energy, enthusiasm, and dedication of all involved turned the walkathon into a strong symbol of solidarity and change. This impactful initiative not only highlighted the importance of gender equality but also reinforced the commitment of the youth and community to drive meaningful change in society.
