Project Arogya

Jyoti Nivas College

Description

As part of its commitment to promoting community well-being and education, the Rotaract Club of Jyoti Nivas College initiated Project Arogya—a thoughtful effort to equip under-resourced education centers with essential medical aid. The project was conducted in collaboration with Shifting Orbits Foundation, which supports students from government schools in classes 8, 9, and 10. Many of these learning centers regularly encounter students suffering from minor injuries, headaches, fevers, and stomach pain. However, the absence of even basic first-aid supplies posed a challenge to immediate care. Recognizing this critical gap, our club curated and donated six fully stocked medical kits, each tailored to provide basic medical relief and support hygiene practices. Each kit included a selection of essential medicines such as Calpol, Meftal Spas, Benadryl, Electral powder, nasal drops, Lanzol, Ondem, Redotil, and Cyraflora. To address common injuries and ensure hygiene, the kits also contained dressing materials like bandage rolls, sterile pads, balms, crepe bandages, diluted Savlon, Neosporin eye ointment, and sterile gauze. The contents were carefully allocated based on standard need-based guidelines to ensure practical and immediate usability (refer to the attached list for full details). These kits were distributed across six education centers: Immadhihalli, Kadugodi, Chennasandra, KR Puram, Attiguppe, and Bevinmara—benefiting over 300 students in total. With these resources now in place, the centers are better equipped to handle minor health concerns, ensuring timely care while reinforcing hygiene awareness and safety. Project Arogya was a meaningful stride in strengthening grassroots healthcare within learning environments. Through initiatives like this, the Rotaract Club of Jyoti Nivas College continues to serve with compassion, responsibility, and a vision for long-term community impact.
