Safe Touch

The "Safe Touch" Awareness Program hosted by the Rotaract Club of Bangalore was an engaging and educational initiative aimed at equipping children with essential knowledge about good touch and bad touch. The program featured a series of interactive sessions and activities designed to empower children with the tools to recognize and respond to potentially unsafe situations. During the program, children actively participated in discussions led by volunteers, where they learned about the difference between positive, comforting touches (good touch) and uncomfortable, inappropriate touches (bad touch). An animated video was also showcased, depicting scenarios of good and bad touch in a child-friendly manner, which further reinforced the key concepts. As a hands-on learning component, each child received a specially crafted worksheet. This worksheet contained thought-provoking questions and scenarios related to good touch and bad touch. Children enthusiastically worked on the worksheet individually or in groups, applying their newfound understanding to real-life situations. The "Safe Touch" program was not just about teaching concepts; it was about empowering children to protect themselves and seek help if they ever felt uncomfortable or unsafe. By the end of the program, the children demonstrated a clearer understanding of personal boundaries and the confidence to identify safe and unsafe situations. The Rotaract Club of Bangalore is committed to the safety and well-being of children in our community. Through initiatives like "Safe Touch," we aim to create a safe and nurturing environment where children can thrive. Hygiene For Hope

The "Hygiene for Hope" project, held on 13th July 2024, was an inspiring and heartwarming success, making a significant difference in the lives of the girls at Sharanya Children's Home. Our team, driven by a shared commitment to promote health and hygiene, visited the home with 13 sanitary and hygiene kits in hand. Each kit was thoughtfully prepared, containing essential items such as sanitary napkins, soap, shampoo, toothpaste, a toothbrush, and a towel. The intention behind this initiative was not only to meet the immediate needs of these young girls but also to instill in them a sense of dignity, self-worth, and the importance of personal hygiene. The smiles that greeted us as we distributed the kits were incredibly rewarding. For the girls, these kits represented more than just practical items—they symbolized care, compassion, and the belief that they are valued. The interactions we had with the girls underscored the impact of our efforts, as they expressed deep gratitude and shared how much these items meant to them. Beyond providing these supplies, the project also included discussions on the importance of maintaining good hygiene practices, contributing to their overall health and well-being. This project would not have been possible without the generous support of our community. From donations to the time and effort of our volunteers, every contribution played a crucial role in the success of "Hygiene for Hope." The positive response and the joy we witnessed have inspired us to continue similar initiatives, with plans to expand our reach to more children in need. Our commitment to making a meaningful difference remains strong, and we look forward to future projects that will further this mission.

Binaca Geetmala Silver Jubilee Celebration

🎶 Binaca Geetmala – A Melodic Tribute to the Golden Era Hosted at CMR Institute of Technology (CMRIT) | Organized by Rotary Bangalore IT Corridor (RBITC) In a time where trends change in the blink of an eye, Binaca Geetmala was a beautiful reminder of the timeless charm of Indian music. Hosted at CMR Institute of Technology (CMRIT) and organized by Rotary Bangalore IT Corridor (RBITC), this nostalgic event transported attendees back to the golden age of Bollywood — with melodies from the 1960s and 1970s taking center stage. 🎤 Reviving a Radio Legacy Inspired by the legendary radio countdown show hosted by Ameen Sayani, Binaca Geetmala recreated the magic of a bygone era where music wasn’t just entertainment — it was an emotion shared across generations. With vintage decor, retro costumes, and iconic songs echoing through the halls, the event brought together music lovers from all walks of life. 🌟 A Crowd that Sang with Heart One of the most remarkable highlights of the evening was the overwhelming response to the 60s and 70s segment, which saw participation from more than 200 people. From humming along to Lag Ja Gale to clapping in rhythm to Mere Sapno Ki Rani, the crowd was immersed in a musical journey that transcended time. Performers delivered stunning renditions of songs by Kishore Kumar, Lata Mangeshkar, Mohammed Rafi, Asha Bhosale, and more, captivating both young and senior audiences. The retro-themed costume contest and old-Bollywood trivia added a fun, interactive flair to the evening. 💡 Music for a Cause Beyond the melodies and memories, Binaca Geetmala carried a greater purpose — all proceeds from the event were directed towards the EPIC Program, an Epilepsy Awareness and Screening Initiative undertaken by RBITC. The EPIC program focuses on: Educating communities about epilepsy Dispelling myths and stigma associated with the condition Providing early screening and support for affected individuals Through this event, music became a medium not just for celebration, but for social impact — showcasing how culture and community can work hand-in-hand for change. 🤝 Bridging Generations Through Harmony The event was a beautiful blend of fellowship, nostalgia, and purpose. Students, Rotaractors, Rotarians, and faculty joined hands in creating an evening that honored musical heritage while contributing to a meaningful cause. Storytelling sessions, throwback installations, and a live radio-style emcee helped bring the Binaca Geetmala magic to life. 💬 Reflections “I haven’t sung these songs in years — it felt like home,” said a senior attendee. “I didn’t grow up in that era, but tonight I understood why those songs still live on,” shared a student performer. “Knowing that we were singing for a cause made it even more special,” added a Rotaractor volunteer. 📸 Memories and Moments The event concluded with a group retro singalong, a thank-you segment for the organizing team, and a celebration of how art can heal, connect, and empower. Photos from the evening captured not just costumes and decor, but the genuine joy and unity in the room. Binaca Geetmala at CMRIT, presented by RBITC, was more than just a tribute to music. It was a heartfelt convergence of nostalgia, creativity, and community spirit — with a meaningful mission at its heart. Through music, the event helped shine a light on epilepsy awareness, and in doing so, created ripples of change far beyond the stage.

They introduced them to platforms like UPI, PhonePe, Google Pay, and QR code-based payment systems, offering step-by-step installation and usage assistance. 🏠 Home-to-Home Awareness Campaign: The club reached out to individual households, including senior citizens, homemakers, and students, to raise awareness on how to pay bills, make transfers, and recharge services digitally from their phones. 🧑‍🏫 Personalized Digital Literacy: Volunteers provided one-on-one training to ensure ease of understanding, breaking down technical barriers and empowering people with digital confidence. 🔐 Digital Safety First: The initiative also emphasized cybersecurity education, helping participants recognize fraud, avoid scams, and set up proper verification steps to protect their digital wallets. 📈 Project Impact: ✅ Achieved 100% digital transaction readiness in the targeted local area 🛍️ Over 300+ vendors and households actively onboarded to digital payment platforms 👵 Significant impact on elderly and low-digital-literacy individuals, many of whom began using digital payments for the first time 🔁 Positive behavioral shift toward regular use of cashless systems 🙌 Created a ripple effect encouraging neighboring areas to seek digital onboarding 💬 Voices from the Community: “Now I can pay my customers and suppliers instantly. No need to handle cash anymore.” – Local grocer “My grandmother is now recharging her phone and paying bills through UPI – all thanks to the Rotaract team.” – Community member “I used to fear scams, but now I know how to keep my money safe online.” – Tailor shop owner 🌍 A Step Toward Digital India Digi World directly supports the national vision of a Digital India by making technology accessible, inclusive, and practical at the grassroots level. The project stands as a shining example of how youth-driven clubs like Rotaract Club of Bangalore Revolution can create meaningful change through on-ground action and direct human connection. ✅ Digi World proved that change doesn’t require a stage — it requires sincerity, conversations, and connection. – Rotaract Club of Bangalore Revolution
