Vanamahotsava: Freedom From Pollution

Vanamahotsava is an annual event celebrated in India, which focuses on tree planting and raising awareness about the importance of forests and trees in our environment. Rotaract Bangalore Vijaynagar organized a significant Vanamahotsava event in collaboration with the Ek Bharat Abhiyan team of Olympic athlete trainers and enthusiastic marathon runners. The event began with an Independence Day celebration at the Ramanagara government school. This was a unique opportunity to educate the students about the significance of the 4R's - Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, and Refuse. Teaching these principles is crucial for environmental sustainability, and it's wonderful that you incorporated this into your celebration. The choice of this school is particularly symbolic as it was established in 1947, the same year India gained independence. Following the Independence Day celebrations, a plantation drive was carried out. This aligns perfectly with the essence of Vanamahotsava, as it emphasizes the importance of afforestation and protecting our green cover. Volunteering at Petfed, specifically in the agility group responsible for managing the crowd within the dog play zone and ensuring the well-being of the pets, was a delightful experience. Spending memorable hours with the pets added a unique and fulfilling dimension to the volunteering experience. Being part of the dog agility area during this wonderful event provided a valuable opportunity to contribute to the smooth functioning of the activities while enjoying the companionship of various pets. These saplings are intended to grow into trees, providing a sustainable source of wet fodder for cows belonging to the Malnad Gidda family. The act of painting bags serves a dual purpose by not only enhancing the aesthetic appeal of the bags but also contributing to the overall improvement of schools.The proceeds or benefits from this initiative, whether through selling the painted bags or utilizing them for school development, have the potential to make a meaningful impact. Funds generated can be directed towards various school-related needs, such as infrastructure improvements, educational resources, or extracurricular activities.By engaging in such artistic endeavors, Kalakrithi not only showcases the power of art in transforming everyday objects but also emphasizes the importance of community involvement in education. The painted bags likely serve as a symbol of creativity, positivity, and collective efforts to support educational institutions. This Was an fund raising event wherein we painted the trendiest bags in town, the tote bag with the help of government school children and fellow rotaractors from different clubs. This event was divided in two parts where we painted 80 bags with the help of government school kids and rest bags were painted by the collaborative clubs and other rotaractors, in total we painted over 200 bags in total . We sold 120+ bags in cubbon park itself for Rs.150. This event will help us provide printer and sports equipment to the dasarhalli government schoolFunds generated can be directed towards various school-related needs, such as infrastructure improvements, educational resources, or extracurricular activities.

On the 9th of December, Rotaract Bangalore Vijayanagar had the pleasure of hosting fellow Rotaractors from Mumbai RID 3142. The day kicked off with a warm welcome as the Mumbai Rotaractors were greeted with enthusiasm and hospitality. Following the warm-up, participants were divided into groups based on their climbing experience, ranging from beginners to those with intermediate skills. The Garba Utsav was nothing short of magical! The energy was electric as we danced with boundless excitement, our spirits lifted by the pulsating beats and vibrant atmosphere. The songs were enchanting, pulling us deeper into the celebration and bringing us all together. "Learning is a grand adventure for curious minds" We the members of Rotaract Bangalore Vijayanagar is taking the initiative to organize "Abhyasa 2.0", our flagship project for the year 2024-2025. This project aims to benefit 80 government school children by providing them with valuable skills. The focus of the program is on teaching spoken English and the basics of computers, helping these students enhance their communication abilities and gain fundamental computer knowledge. This effort will undoubtedly contribute to the educational growth and development of the participating kids. Every Saturday, we dedicate two hours to our flagship project, engaging children and making a positive impact. This initiative is designed to provide them with valuable skills throughout the year. Spoken English: The project focuses on teaching these students the fundamentals of spoken English. Proficiency in English is often a critical skill, opening up opportunities for better communication, education, and future job prospects. Basics of Computers: In today's digital age, computer literacy is crucial. Abhyasa ensures that these students receive instruction in the basics of computers. This knowledge equips them to navigate the digital world, use essential software, and potentially pursue careers in technology. Regular Classes: To ensure consistent learning, classes are held every Saturday for two hours. This regular schedule allows students to build on their knowledge progressively over the course of the year. By providing these students with English and computer skills, Abhyasa aims to empower them with the tools they need to excel academically and improve their future prospects. This retro-themed celebration was nothing short of spectacular, creating a nostalgic yet vibrant atmosphere that united Rotary and Rotaract members under one banner. The event dazzled with thrilling performances, captivating everyone and highlighting the incredible talent within our community. Beyond the entertainment, this gathering served as a powerful catalyst for connection, inspiring collaboration and strengthening the bonds between Rotary, Rotaract, and Interact. Deepavali Potluck

The Deepavali Potluck was an unforgettable celebration filled with warmth, joy, and festive spirit. Our gathering started with a delightful spread of homemade dishes brought by each member, each dish adding unique flavors and reflecting personal touches. The delicious food was a feast in itself, with traditional delicacies and innovative recipes that pleased everyone’s taste buds and brought a true sense of togetherness to the evening. We all enjoyed not only the food but also the company, making mealtime a cherished part of the night as we shared stories, laughs, and festive wishes. The evening's entertainment was no less remarkable, filled with games, music, and dancing that had everyone engaged.
